Clean Up Australia Day

Clean Up Australia Day

A very successful Clean Up Australia Day involved seven landcare groups working across the shire to pick up litter.

Merton, Home Creek-Spring Creek, South Cathedral, Yea River, Strath Creek, and Kinglake landcare groups, as well as Yea Wetlands Committee of Management worked tirelessly on Sunday 1st March.

Each group registered their sites on the Clean Up Australia Day website. Murrindindi Shire also supported this event with an allocation of rubbish and recycling bins at each site, or tip passes, rubbish pick -up sticks were given to each group and funding was provided for catering after the event.

Thank you to everyone who gave their time to help keep our shire litter free!
