The weed control season has started so they have been working through areas of the Yea Wetlands drilling and poisoning large Willows, Desert Ash and Hawthorn and cut & painting the smaller woody weeds and also re-commenced the holly control project in Narbethong and woody weed control along Godfreys Creek at the Gobur Goldfields site.

They also have been building Indian Myna traps that will be available for loan from Murrindindi Shire offices. A big thank you to Kinglake Landcare Group member Danny Phillips for his assistance.

Great news for two of our current and past Green Army team members Ben and Billy. The two fella’s have recently received employment with the DELWP Seasonal Project Firefighter Crews at Alexandra and Bendigo. Apparently their participation in the Green Army was a big reason they were chosen above other applicants.
