Fencers without Boundaries
In times of natural disasters landcare groups and their members come together to help others, and the response by landcare following the recent Longwood Fire was no different.
Many Landcare members from the surrounding ‘unburnt’ landcare groups from the Whittlesea, Flowerdale, Kinglake, Homewood, Strath Creek, and Yea River Landcare Groups have volunteered with the Upper Goulburn Landcare Networks fire recovery fencing program ‘Fencers without Boundaries’ to help members from the fire affected Merton, Home Creek-Spring Creek, and Molesworth Landcare Groups.

Fire Recovery donations and volunteers needed.
The Upper Goulburn Landcare Network (UGLN) are actively seeking volunteers and donations to assist landowners impacted by the 2026 Longwood Fires in the Murrindindi and Mansfield Shires.
UGLN are calling for skilled and unskilled volunteers to assist us with our Fire Recovery fencing project – Fencers Without Boundaries.
Experience in fencing would be helpful but not essential as a lot of the initial work is removing the burnt and damaged fencing.
Morning tea and lunch is provided for all volunteers and all the safety equipment, PPE and tools that are needed.

Monetary donations to help UGLN continue this important work can be made to the following account and reference ‘Fires 2026’.
Account Name: Upper Goulburn Landcare Network
BSB: 633 000
Account No: 146 003 595
