Lorax Project 2015
Thanks to funding provided by the State Governments Communities For Nature program the UGLN Lorax project is now into it’s 6th year.
Our 2015 planting season only really kicked off in June but already we have planted 4170 plants on properties throughout the Upper Goulburn catchment. Thanks to the help of volunteers from Price Waterhouse Coopers, NAB, ANZ, JBWere, Victorian Mobile Landcare Group and Yea High School.
Recently we had a team from NAB that have been coming up annually since 2010. This year Don and his crew did a great job planting over 300 plants on a Strath Creek property.
We held two planting days in Limestone with the Yea High School Year 9 Agriculture Class. The students were very enthusiastic and planted almost 600 plants over the two days.
We would also like to welcome Price Waterhouse Coopers who recently participated in our Lorax Project for the first time and planted 350 plants on a farm in Glenburn.
If you are interested in volunteering with our Lorax Project or a landowner thinking about revegetating a section of your property contact UGLN Landcare Coordinator Chris Cobern on 5797 4404.
